Senator Jennifer Beck (R-Monmouth) announced that additional school funding for Freehold, Red Bank and other under-adequacy districts is included in New Jersey’s proposed FY2017 budget.

Sen. Jennifer Beck was joined by Freehold Borough Superintendent Rocco Tomazic (l) and Red Bank Superintendent Jared Rumage (r) for the Governor’s Budget Address at the New Jersey State House on February 16, 2016. (SenateNJ.com)

“This is a solid first step to address the needs of students in school districts that have been flat-funded as their enrollments have exploded,” Beck said. “Of the 143 school districts that are more than 10-percent below the state’s ‘adequacy’ funding standard, 115 have seen enrollment growth, including Freehold and Red Bank. I appreciate the insight, cooperation and support of Governor Christie, Commissioner Hespe and Superintendents Tomazic and Rumage.”
