HS GIRLS SWIMMING: Jackson Memorial’s Francisco Finishes Fourth in Meet of Champions

Junior Anna Francisco of Jackson Memorial High School finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly final at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology on Sunday with a time of 55.95 seconds. Julieyanna Parker of Hillsborough won the event for the third consecutive year, followed by Monika Burzynska of Colonia and Helen Grossman of Shore High School.

Francisco nabbed the eighth and final slot in the final with a time of 56.93 seconds in the preliminary round on Saturday. She also finished 9th in the 100-yard backstroke, winning the consolation final with a time of 57.31 seconds after finishing 13th in the preliminary round.

The Jaguars’ 200-yard medley relay team of Francisco, Kaitlin Idank, Gabby Wilson and Annalise Giuliano won the consolation final Sunday after finishing ninth in the preliminaries. The same four swimmers finished second in the consolation final and 10th overall in the 200-year freestyle relay Sunday after finishing 15th in the preliminaries.
