PRESS RELEASE-HUGIN FOR SENATE

U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin released the following statement regarding Governor Phil Murphy’s proposals to increase taxes and spending.

“New Jersey is increasingly unaffordable and Governor Murphy’s budget is going to make it even worse. Over a billion dollars in higher taxes and more spending is the last thing our taxpayers need.  This budget should be dead on arrival with both parties in the legislature. Trenton can and must do better.

“First, Senator Menendez was too busy defending himself against corruption and bribery charges in federal court to save our state and local tax deduction in the tax reform fight.  Now, just weeks after Senator Menendez said he was ‘starting off great’, Phil Murphy wants to increase our state sales tax, which will hit working class New Jerseyans the hardest and will further drive jobs and businesses out of our state.

I know first hand how difficult it is to create jobs and build a successful business in New Jersey, and this budget will make it even harder.”
