JACKSON-On Friday, April 14th, the Jackson Police Department responded to six incidents in a six hour period involving mental health, drugs and intoxication. It started at 2pm on Friday afternoon and went through 8 pm that night.
CRISIS INTERVENTION: At 1410 hours, officers responded to a residence in the township on the report of a 54 year old female who was reportedly making suicidal statements. The female was located and later transported to an area hospital for treatment.
FIRST AID/OVERDOSE: At 1342 hours, officers, fire personnel and first aid responded to a residence on Revere Court on the report of a male suffering from a possible overdose. The male was located and treated at the scene and then transported to an area hospital for treatment. Suspected heroin and paraphernalia was recovered at the scene and seized for destruction. No charges were signed as per the Overdose Prevention Act.
DWI: At 1541 hours, officers responded to the Rite Aid located on North New Prospect Road on the report of an intoxicated male in a vehicle at the location. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 59 year old male who was processed and later charged with: driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, improper backing, obstructing traffic and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
CRISIS INTERVENTION: At 1625 hours, officers responded to a residence in the township to check on a male who was reportedly depressed and suicidal. The male was located and later transported to an area hospital for treatment.
FIRST AID/OVERDOSE: At 1555 hours, officers and first aid responded to a residence on Victoria Circle on the report of a male suffering from a possible overdose, possibly from gummy bears laced with THC. The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Nothing of evidentiary value was located at the scene.
FIRST AID/OVERDOSE: At 1954 hours, officers along with first aid and medics responded to a residence on London Drive on the report of a male who had reportedly overdosed on heroin. The male had been administered Narcan prior to the officer’s arrival and later refused to be transported for further treatment. Nothing of evidentiary value was located at the scene.
