School Bus Crash Reported in Howell

On Wednesday July 18th at 11:04 AM, Holmdel Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 34. Upon Officers arrival, it was learned that two school buses had collided while traveling on Hwy 34 Northbound. The school buses were traveling together and when the first school bus was slowing for traffic that was stopped on Hwy 34, the second school bus struck the first in the rear. The buses were transporting juveniles from a youth camp in West Long Branch to the Strathmore Bowling Alley.

There was a total of 107 occupants on both school buses. Seven occupants were treated for minor injuries at the scene and released by the Holmdel First Aid Squad and Colts Neck First Aid Squad. Both buses were owned by Seamen Tov, Ocean NJ, and two additional school buses responded to transport the passengers to their destination.
