No Injuries Reported in Wall Car Fire

WALL TOWNSHIP-On Monday, August 6, 2018 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Wall Township Police Department responded to Hwy. #138 eastbound near Allenwood Road for a report of a vehicle on fire.

The on scene investigation revealed that the operator of the 2006 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Hwy. #138 when their vehicle began smoking. The driver pulled over onto the side of the roadway and discovered that there was a fire in the engine compartment.

A short time later the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames. The Wall Township Police Department along with the New Jersey Department of Transportation Emergency Response Team closed Hwy. #138 eastbound for approximately 45 minutes while Glendola Fire Department extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The investigation conducted by the Wall Township Police Department and Wall Township Fire Bureau into the cause of the fire revealed nothing suspicious.
