SPRING LAKE-On February 4th at 10:14pm Ptl. Michael Dolan was on patrol when he came upon this accident which had occurred moments before. Several Heights Good Samaritans stopped to help. The driver was trapped in the vehicle. Independent Fire Company #1 Spring Lake Heights, South Wall Heavy Rescue, Spring Lake EMS and MONOC Medics worked in difficult conditions to remove the trapped driver. The driver was transported to JSUMC with serious injuries. Hwy 71 was closed for approximately 2.5 hours. Sgt. Zachary Ramp is handling the investigation.
Police did not say whether or not speed was a factor in this crash or if charges were filed against the driver.
