Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Boasts About Her Cold War Struggles, Communism

WASHINGTON, DC.  – The Cold War was a decades-long struggle to win hearts and minds.  It was a battle between socialism/communism and democracy/capitalism.  Many of us are old enough to remember drills in school hiding under our desks to save our asses from a nuclear strike from the Soviet Union.

The end result of that war that ran from 1947 to 1991 was the complete and utter collapse of socialism and oppression around the world. Most communist nations fell and are now enjoying their God gifted freedoms as human beings.

Born October 13, 1989, young Sandy Cortez was just two years old when the Cold War ended, but she’s now an expert on the struggles of those of us who not only lived through the Cold War, but served in the military during the Cold War and lived in constant fear of war with the communists, which was actually a real thing at the time.

“The old-fashioned red-baiting approach, familiar to those of us who lived through the Cold War, doesn’t seem to be working,” she said. “Drumming fear around socialism is the GOP’s big play, & it’s failing, bc capitalism = GoFundMe as our national healthcare system.”

If Sandy paid closer attention when she was a toddler and watched less Barney and more CNN, she would know that it was also a Republican president that ended the Cold War, the one and only Ronald Regan.

“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall,” he said as communism fell.

The world then embraced democracy, freedom, and capitalism.    It’s no wonder why Cortez has become one of the most popular subjects of internet memes since she gave up bartending.
