Salvation Army Seeking Food Donations to Feed Workers at Ocean County COVID-19 Test Facility

TOMS RIVER-During the first week of testing for coronavirus at the Ocean County College drive-thru testing facility here, the Ocean County Health Department said today the Salvation Army has been an integral part of the operation keeping healthcare workers and police officers fed.

“The Salvation Army has been an important presence at the COVID-19 drive thru testing site all week by feeding the large group of medical staff, administrators, law enforcement officers and other employees in an effort to do their part and assist in keeping the process running smoothly,” the OCHD said. “But, as we gear up for the second week of testing at OCC, they can still use your help! The Salvation Army is asking for donations of prepared food trays and soft drinks.”

The Salvation Army requests the following;


*Any prepared food entree that is ready to serve buffet/catering style. (Aluminum covered trays work best).
*Casserole’s, Mac & Cheese, Pasta and Chicken Dishes, etc, Juices and Soft Drinks.

In the meantime, the OCHD is taking reservations for appointments for the week of April 6-10.

To register for an appointment, you MUST have a physician’s order (doctor’s prescription). Once you have the prescription, you can register at www.ochd.org and follow the directions to complete a reservation for a specific date and time.. For more information call 732-341-9700 ext. 7411
