Murphy to Allow Outdoor High School Graduations in July

TRENTON, NJ – Governor Phil Murphy today announced New Jersey high school 2020 graduates will be allowed to have a graduation ceremony this summer. Murphy said graduations will be allowed to take place outdoors, with social distancing beginning July 26th. “Beginning July 6th, schools WILL have the opportunity to hold outdoor graduation ceremonies that comply with social distancing – ensuring the health and safety of all in attendance,” he said.

High school graduations have been a major source of stress and frustration for high school seniors and families throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, worried that their 12 year accomplishment would be hidden within the pages of history.
