BAYVILLE, NJ – JCP&L says at least 1,5000 customers still remain without power after this week’s passing storm.

“Crews continue to make progress restoring customers after yesterday’s severe storm. Approximately 1,500 customers remain without power, down from about 106,000 total customers impacted. The majority of remaining customers are located in Ocean, Burlington and Hunterdon counties. Crews from unaffected areas have been moved to assist with restoration efforts,” JCP&L said. “We still expect that the majority of customers will be restored by late tonight, with customers in the hardest hit areas extending into tomorrow. For current updates, including crew status, view our map at http://spr.ly/NJOutageMap. You can also text STAT to 544487 for an update for your residence.  There is another line of storms expected tonight and again tomorrow, which has the potential to hamper restoration efforts and possibly cause new outages.”

The National Weather Services says Showers and thunderstorms this evening may bring strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rain. The rain could result in localized flooding of small streams and areas of poor drainage.
