SOMERSET, NJ – It is being reported that hundreds of absentee ballots sent to Republican voters in Somerset County have been screwed up. The Somerset County Clerk blames a printing error and confirmed that between 500 to 700 primary voters received the wrong ballot.    The Clerk’s office has not yet published a public response to the error, but News 12 reported,  “500 to 700 mail-in ballots sent to Republicans in Bernardsville were incorrectly printed with only the names of Democratic candidates like @JoeBiden @SenSanders and @Malinowski. Somerset County clerk says error made by printer.”

“County Clerk Steve Peter says that there is no evidence of malicious intent. The ballots were printed by Verona-based Reliance Ballots. The company says the ballots got caught up in a plate change and that the correct ballots should be in voters’ mailboxes by Thursday,” New12 reported.

Governor Phil Murphy, who mandated that this year’s primary election will take place mostly with mail-in ballots did not respond to the problem going on in Somerset County.
