Bramnick: Governor Murphy Must Respect the Rules and Laws He Implements Against the People

UNION, NJ – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick said that governors must respect the rule of law.  “I have always respected the Office of the Governor regardless of whether a Democrat or Republican served as the executive,” said Bramnick (R-Union).  “I would hope that I never see another governor intentionally violate the law of New Jersey.  Disregarding the law by a governor can have serious results.”

Bramnick has introduced a resolution citing that the Legislature is deeply concerned with Gov. Phil Murphy violating his own executive order.

“No one is above the law, especially the person who enacts the law,” said Bramnick.

The resolution says that rather than rescind or revise his executive order to allow all residents be treated equally, the governor intentionally violated his own executive order and that Murphy should be held to the same standard as other New Jerseyans cited for participating in public gatherings of more than 25 people in violation of Executive Order No. 148.
