Father Stabbed Trying to Stop Berkeley Township Mob of Teens from Attacking Son

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ  – A father attempted to break up a fight between his child and a large group of juveniles and was stabbed repeatedly by his son’s assailants.
Police said on Thursday, they responded to the area of Wheaton Ave and Central Blvd near the rail trail for a report of five males fighting in the area.
“Upon patrols arrival they found the victim, an adult male, injured from multiple stab wounds resulting from the fight. The victim was treated on scene and transported to Community Medical Center for non life threating injuries,” the department said.  “Through the course of the investigation it was learned that this fight involved numerous juveniles who all fled the scene prior to police arrival. Preliminary investigation revealed that all parties involved knew each other in some aspect.”
During the course of the juveniles fighting the injured father tried to intervene and break up the fight as his child was being assaulted thus resulting in his injuries.
Multiple parties involved in this investigation live in close proximity to the rail trail. This case is still under investigation and charges are pending.
