Point Pleasant Woman Charged With Possession of Child Pornography

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Lisa Cuervo, 24, of Point Pleasant, has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)iii.

This investigation was the result of a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which identified a suspect in Point Pleasant as possessing child pornography. On July 24, 2020, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit and Point Pleasant Borough Police Department executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence in Point Pleasant. As a result, Detectives seized a smart phone belonging to Cuervo which contained child pornography. During the course of executing the search warrant, Detectives also seized approximately 17 marijuana plants and assorted drug paraphernalia. As such, Cuervo was additionally charged with Manufacturing More than Ten but Less than Fifty Marijuana Plants in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5(b)10(b). Cuervo was also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2), based upon the fact that her minor child living in the residence had access to the illegal plants and drug paraphernalia. Cuervo was processed at the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department and transported to the Ocean County Jail where she is currently lodged pending a detention hearing.
