Facebook Fans Help Police Department Solve Old Theft, Credit Card Fraud Case

MANAHAWKIN, NJ – On Wednesday, July 9th 2020 the Stafford Township Police Department received a report of a stolen purse, where the suspects later used the victim’s credit cards at several locations in Manahawkin and Forked River including Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart.
An investigation by Detective Drew Smith of the Stafford Township Detective Bureau revealed that the victim had dropped her wallet in the parking lot of Carolina Select Furniture in Waretown. The wallet was then found by an unidentified male suspect, at which time several credit cards were used by two male suspects for multiple transactions totaling over $9,000.00 in fraudulent charges.
Surveillance footage of the suspects was then posted to the Stafford Township Facebook Page, which led to the suspects being identified and the recovery of some of the fraudulently purchased merchandise. Subsequently, Sander Schneider, age 52 of Cape May Drive, Forked River, and John Juliano, 47 years old of Center Street, Forked River, were charged with 11 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of stolen credit cards, and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud. Sander Schneider was additionally charged with theft of lost property. Both men have a pending court date in Ocean County Superior Court.
