Lightning Strikes Cut Power to 20,000 in Ocean County

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A passing storm late Friday afternoon cause power outages to as many as 20,000 homes, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.  Of those outages, by 8:00 pm, power had been restored to 14,000 homes.  The company estimates, through their online outage monitoring website,  most could have their power returned by morning.
