HOBOKEN, NJ – Cake Boss Buddy Valastro shared a photo from the hospital on Wednesday showing off his new threads. Valastro said he impaled his hand on a metal rod repeatedly after a pinsetter at his home bowling alley malfunctioned. Bakery Spokesperson Michael Ciullo released an update on Valastro’s condition.
“After trying to release the bowling pin from the cage mechanism, his right hand became lodged and compressed inside the unit,” Ciullo said. “Unable to remove his hand, he can see a 1½ (inch) metal rod slowly and repeatedly impale his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger.”
Ciullo said Valastro was stuck in the machine for approximately 5 minutes before his two sons Buddy Jr. and Marco used a reciprocating saw to cut through the rod and free the reality tv star’s hand.
