TRENTON, NJ – A second high level staffer of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has tested positive for COVID-19 today.  This comes after Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy have gone into a voluntary quarantine.

“I will now, unfortunately, have to take myself off the field,” Murphy said at a press conference today.

Murphy’s Deputy Chief of Staff Mike Delamater tested positive early Wednesday and later in the day, Daniel Bryan, another staff member close to the governor tested positive.   Murphy’s office today said contact tracing has been dispatched to see how far the spread of the virus has gone in the administration’s COVID-19 flareup.

Murphy has canceled all of his public events and appearances through the weekend.  His administration offered no further color on the outbreak.  Murphy said he tested negative for the virus on Monday and as of Wednesday had no symptoms.
