Republicans Out Voting Democrats in Ocean County Mail-In Ballot

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Ocean County Board of Elections tally of mail-in ballots for the 2020 Presidential election as of Wednesday showed 68,566 Republican ballots have been received and 53,787 Democrat ballots have been received.  Although leading by a 15,000 ballot margin, there 47,526 ballots from unaffiliated voters.  Ocean County has historically been a Republican voting base.  In 2016, Donald J. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton 179,079 to 87,150.  Statewide, Clinton defeated Trump 2.02 million to 1.53 million.  The counts are based on whether the voter is registered Democrat, Republican or Unaffiliated, but the ballots have not been opened yet.
