Marienville Man Sent Threatening Letters to Woman, Family through US Postal Service

SCRANTON, PA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that on November 4, 2020, Quintin Kinchen, age 37, of Marienville, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment and a three-year term of supervised release by United States District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion, for using the United States Mail and Postal Service to send threatening communications.

According to United States Attorney David J. Freed, on or about March 15, 2019, and again on or about April 2, 2019, while serving a prior prison sentence for a 2016 aggravated assault conviction, Kinchen sent two threatening letters to his victim, the former Lackawanna County Assistant District Attorney who prosecuted him for the aforementioned 2016 aggravated assault offense.  In these letters, Kinchen threatened serious physical violence against both the victim and her family.
