Oregon Governor Kate Brown Shuts it All Down Again, COVID-19 Lockdown Ordered

PORTLAND, OR – The second wave of the COVID-19 lockdown is upon us and for residents of several Oregon counties, it starts now.  Governor Kate Brown has ordered a ‘COVID-19 pause’, or lockdown effective immediately.   The counties of Baker, Clackamas, Jackson, Malheur, Marion, Multnomah, Umatilla, Union and Washington will immediately impose the following restrictions upon its citizens.

Businesses should return to a telecomuting model allowing workers to work from home, visitor access will be banned from longterm care facilities, maximum restaurant capacity will be reduced to 50 patrons, all indoor recreation will be capped at 50 people and limiting social gatherings in your home to six people.

“We all know that covid-19 cases are surging over the weekend,” Brown said.   “Nine Oregon counties will start a two week pause on social activities to help us slow the spread of COVID-19.”

Brown said COVID-19 is spiraling out of control in Oregon.


The order affects bowling alleys, gyms, ice rinks, indoor pools, indoor sports and museums.   Brown also suggests limiting the frequency of family gatherings. The pause will be in effect for at least two weeks.
