Thanksgiving Ends in New Castle with Shooting

NEW CASTLE, DE –  Last night (Nov 26), at approximately 8:30 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Stonebridge Blvd, in the community of Hampton Green Townhouses for a report of shots fired.
When the officers arrived, they located a black SUV idling in the parking lot. The officers were notified by dispatch that the SUV had been reported stolen from the City of Wilmington. When the officers examined the SUV, a 21-year-old male was seen laying across the front seats. The male was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso area. The officers immediately provided first aid and when paramedics arrived, he was transported to a local area hospital, where he was admitted for his injuries.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and in its early stages. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
