WEST CHESTER, PA – On November 23, 2020, Dimitrios Moscharis, 34-year-old of West Chester, was arrested and charged with Attempted Homicide, Strangulation, Aggravated Assault, Possessing an Instrument of Crime, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, False Imprisonment, Unlawful Restraint, and other related offenses, following a joint investigation by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, Chester County Detectives, and Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
Dimitrios Moscharis stands accused of severely beating and torturing his girlfriend’s 9-year-old daughter. The mother of the 9-year-old victim, Julianne Lewis, 31-year-old of West Chester, called 9-1-1 to report the 9-year-old victim was unconscious. Police, EMS, and Fire responded to the Westtown residence, and found the 9-year-old victim unconscious, with extensive bruising on her body.
The 9-year-old victim was rushed to Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital, where the 9-year-old victim remains in critical condition.
Medical care providers found the 9-year-old victim had extensive bruising, injuries to her lungs, and possible brain damage from being deprived of oxygen for an extended period of time. The 9-year-old victim’s injuries are consistent with “Child Torture”. Dimitrios Moscharis is currently being held without bail at Chester County Prison, pending his Preliminary Hearing at District Court 15-2-03 on December 14th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
On November 25, 2020, Julianne Lewis, the mother of the 9-year-old victim, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping a Minor, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, False Imprisonment, Unlawful Restraint, Criminal Conspiracy, and related offenses, after further investigation into the systemic abuse of the 9-year-old victim. Julianne Lewis stands accused of allowing her boyfriend, Dimitrios Moscaris, to abuse and torture her 9-year-old daughter over a period of time, as well as failing to act and care for her 9-year-old daughter. Julianne Lewis is currently being held without bail at Chester County Prison, pending her Preliminary Hearing at District Court 15-2-03 on December 14th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The incident remains under investigation by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, Chester County Detectives, and Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
