Highlands County sex offender released in August back in jail again after she failed to register

SEBRING, FL – Stephanie Lynn Smith, 30, of 2803 US 27 South in Sebring, was arrested yesterday morning after it was discovered by the HCSO’s Sexual Offender & Predator Unit during an address verification that she moved to another home and failed to register this information in accordance with Florida’s registration laws.  Smith was released on August 22, 2020 from Florida prison after serving a sentence for failing to properly register in Highlands County.
“The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office closely monitors the sexual offenders and predators living in our county. To see if any sexual offenders or predators are living in your area, download the free HCSO app in the iPhone or Android app store,” the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office said today.
