New London Police investigating shots fired near Fort Trumbull

NEW LONDON, CT –  New London Police are investigating a series of gunshots heard overnight after finding spent shell casings during their initial investigation.

According to police here, on Saturday at approximately 12:29 am, the New London Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a disturbance with shots fired in the area of Ocean Ave. and Lee Ave., New London, CT. Police were immediately dispatched to the location for further investigation. Once on scene, police located spent casings. The scene was secured and processed for evidence. An area canvass was also initiated. No injuries were reported. The incident does not appear to be a random act.

The investigation remains active.
