BRONX, N.Y. — A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Jerron Grant, who was gunned down in broad daylight on East 161st Street on Wednesday, November 27.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m., when officers from the 44th Precinct observed the teen suspect firing a handgun multiple times at Grant, striking him once in the chest. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended minutes later by officers near East 156th Street and Courtlandt Avenue.

Emergency responders transported Grant to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead. A firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released due to his age, has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
