Teen girl missing in Newark after last seen near Maple Avenue on Halloween
Newark, NJ – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 15-year-old girl who went missing on Halloween and hasn’t been seen since, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Brianna James, 15, of Newark, was reported missing on Friday, October 31, after she was last spotted near Maple Avenue and Grumman Avenue. Authorities say she has run away before, but those previous incidents were not reported to police at the time.
Brianna is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. Her clothing at the time of her disappearance is unknown. Officials say her mental and physical health are considered to be in good condition.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging anyone who may have seen Brianna or has any information about her location to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.
Police have not said whether Brianna’s disappearance is believed to be voluntary or if foul play is suspected. The investigation remains open.
