16-Year-Old Beaten and Robbed on NYC Subway Train

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance in identifying two individuals involved in a robbery that occurred on a southbound “2” train on Friday morning.

The incident took place at approximately 10:45 a.m. as the train was approaching the Simpson Street station in the Bronx. According to police, a 16-year-old male victim was assaulted by two unidentified individuals who punched him in the face and forcibly took his cellphone.

The suspects fled the subway station and remain at large. The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The NYPD has released images of the suspects captured on surveillance footage and is urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
