Frankford man busted after drugs and loaded gun found in home with child present

Frankford, DE – A 20-year-old man is facing serious charges after Delaware State Police discovered crack cocaine, marijuana, and a loaded handgun during a probation search at his Frankford home Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on November 11, Probation & Parole officers conducted an administrative search of Malachi Mahon’s residence on Frankford Avenue as part of his probation conditions. After finding evidence of drugs and a weapon, they requested assistance from the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force.

A full search led to the seizure of 6.44 grams of crack cocaine, 50.43 grams of marijuana, and a Glock 9mm handgun. Investigators also confirmed that a child was inside the home at the time of the search. Mahon was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to Troop 4 and charged with multiple felonies, including drug possession with intent to deliver and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $36,601 cash bond.

The case remains under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed if additional charges related to child endangerment are pending.
