This gorgeous young man is Bartlet, a pit mix that is about 3 1/2 years old and would love to know what it’s like to have a home of his own. In February 2014, Bartlet was found stranded on top of a burned out, crumbled building in Newark (as seen in picture on left). Bartlet was living in the abandoned building and a homeless man was caring for him but when the building crumbled, so did Bartlet’s whole world. When he became stranded, our Asst. Director and an officer from our Newark facility rushed out to the scene. They risked injury to themselves to rescue Bartlet from the dangerous situation he was in. After hours of struggling to get Bartlet, they finally got him to safety and this young pup couldn’t be more grateful. Bartlet spent several months in our Newark facility hoping to get a new home but when no one showed much interest in this sweetheart, he hopped on the van heading south, and came to stay with us at Popcorn Park. Bartlet is a loving, gentle, well behaved boy that loves life and everyone in it. He makes friends very easily and is having the time of his life getting lots of attention from his many new friends. Bartlet is outgoing, energetic, playful and super sweet. He sits nicely when asked and walks on a leash very well with a harness on. Bartlet doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and he just adores people. Bartlet would be the most loyal and loving companion if you would just give him the chance. File#24268 1/2/15
