TOM RIVER-The two men responsible for robbing a Santander bank in Toms River on Wednesday didn’t have much time to enjoy their take.

This morning, the Toms River Police Department announced the arrests of Christopher Camargo, 22, of Oakridge Parkway in Toms River and Leonard Larson, 29, of Yardarm Court in Bayville.

Both were each charged with Robbery.

At 9:23 am on January 7, 2015 a hold up alarm from the Santander bank located at 721 Route 37 West was activated.  Police spokesman Ralph Stocco reports that the two men entered the bank and demanded cash.  Camargo leaped over the teller counter and removed money from the drive through cashier drawer.  No weapon was shown during the robbery.  They fled on foot out of the front door and crossed over Route 37 in a northerly direction.  They continued on foot into the Oak Ridge section of the township, which is a residential area.  Stocco also states that the two men were apprehended within hours of the Robbery at the home of Camargo, which is a short distance from the bank.  He adds that a court authorized search warrant was executed at the residence of Camargo which recovered evidence of the crime. Both men are being held in the Ocean County Jail on $150,000 bail.

Detectives Mark Bajada and Roger Hull were assisted by Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office CSI and K-9 units.
