Nick Pica scored two goals Wednesday as the Toms River North High School hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie against St. John Vianney.

Shea Bontempo also scored for the Mariners, who held a 2-1 lead entering the third period. Brett Schneider had two assists, while Bontempo and Matthew Heagan added one each for Toms River North. Goalie Noah Maikish stopped 32 of 35 shots on goal.

The Lancers got goals from James O’Keefe, John Gelatt and Ty Buckley. Max Allen had two assists and O’Keefe had one for St. John Vianney. Jeremy Connor made 21 saves.
