HS WRESTLING: Northern Burlington Edges Brick Township 30-28

The sixth-seeded Brick Township High School wrestling team led by 25 points after six bouts Monday, but third-seeded Northern Burlington mounted a comeback and defeated the Green Dragons, 30-28, in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 4 Central Tournament.

Brick Township held a 28-24 lead with two bouts remaining, but Josh Berg won a 4-2 decision over Danny Moreno at 160 pounds and Tommy Hill won a 1-0 decision over Nick Wojtaszek at 170 pounds to give the Greyhounds the victory.

James Jachim and Liam Poland had pins for the Green Dragons and Jonathan Mora won a 12-3 major decision over Juan Solis at 113 pounds. Brick Township also won four matches by decision.

Vincent Foggia and Vincent Hellthaler had pins for Northern Burlington. Anthony Foggia won a 17-8 major decision over David Santiago at 132 pounds and Dion young won a 16-1 technical fall over Jacob Konstantoulas at 126 pounds for the Greyhounds, who also won three matches by decision.


Northern Burlington will face second-seeded Long Branch in the semifinal round on Wednesday.
