How an asteroid just passed earth without much notice

An asteroid the size of a 10-story building moving at nearly 10 miles per second came within close distance with Earth, slipping past us at the last moment. Didn’t hear about it? You aren’t the only one. In fact, scientists just discovered the asteroid two days before it came closer to us than the moon.
