Church Signed Defaced by Vandals

BERKELEY-The sign in front of the St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Berkeley Township was vandalized earlier this week and police are searching for the perpetrators.

Upside down crosses and “Satan Rules” were among the graffiti on the brick and mortar sign.

The St. Barnabas Knights of Columbus have offered a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.


The Berkeley Police Department issued the following statement:

On August 16th 2016 the Berkeley Township Police responded to Saint Barnabas Roman Catholic Church on Woodland Rd for a report of criminal mischief in the form of spray paint graffiti to the front sign. The incident occurred within the last 24 hrs. At this time the investigation is ongoing. Township personnel have assisted in removing the paint. 


The Berkeley Detective Bureau is currently on scene and conducting the investigation to determine the suspects and motive.
