JACKSON-At tonight’s Jackson Township Council meeting, the council will vote on the removal of Anthony Marano, who last month was accused by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office of possession and distribution of child pornography.

During the raid on his home in September, police say Marano pulled a gun on responding police officers, but officers were able to diffuse the situation and arrest the suspect without the use of deadly force.

Mr. Anthony Marano was reappointed a member of the Jackson Township Board of
Adjustment on August 22, 2017.

The council invoked  N.J.S.A. 40:55D-69 and he will be removed from the board for cause, the council said.

“Mr. Marano was arrested and charged with multiple serious crimes on September 26,
2017 in Ocean County, NJ,” the resolution states.  “The arrest and resulting charges unequivocally satisfy the standard of good cause for Mr. Marano’s removal from his position as a member of the Jackson Township Board of Adjustment.”
