Toms River Police Investigation Fatal Crash

by Ralph Stocco, TRPD

On January 15th at 8:52 PM, police and medical units responded to Washington Street and Clifton Avenue for a single vehicle crash.  Upon arrival they found that a 2006 Mini Cooper had struck a tree causing extensive damage.  The driver was already deceased upon police arrival.  The passenger had multiple injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The vehicle, which was traveling eastbound, was not being operated by the registered owner and we have not yet made contact with the driver’s family.  Further information will be released as it becomes available.

The crash investigation is being conducted by Toms River Traffic Officers Mark Nater and David  Bartoshek.
