Howell Man Arrested for Distributing Drugs in Manchester

Manchester Township— A Howell Township resident was arrested after being stopped on State Highway 37 in Manchester. On July 12, 2018, members of the Manchester Police Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) observed a vehicle in the area of State Highway 37 near Commonwealth Boulevard. The vehicle was subsequently stopped for a motor vehicle violation. During the course of the stop and investigation, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and driver. The search revealed 37 grams of cocaine in 50 separately packaged bags, 7 oxycodone pills, 1 alprazolam pill, 2.5 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. All with an approximate street value of over $3,700.

The driver, 31 year old Peter Nickey of Howell was charged with one count each of Possession of and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Alprazolam, Possession of Marijuana, Hindering Evidence by Concealment, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Loitering to Distribute CDS. Nickey was lodged in Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail.

Manchester Police K-9 officer, Ptl. Steven Wendruff and his K-9 Partner, Lynk assisted with the investigation.


The 2013 Nissan Altima that Mr. Nickey was driving was seized during the investigation, as well as approximately $100 in cash, pending forfeiture.
