Motorcyclist Dies in Howell Crash

HOWELL-On Thursday, at approximately 6:40 a.m., Howell Police Communications received a call from a motorist reporting a motorcyclist down on the on-ramp to Rt.33 Bypass westbound.
Upon arrival of patrol, it was determined the motorcyclist was deceased. He was identified as 35 year old Freehold resident James J. Florek.


The initial investigation has revealed the collision between the motorcyclist and the guardrail may have occurred between 5:30 p.m. yesterday (7 Nov) and midnight last night as he did not show at his place of employment.

The 2017 Honda CBR motorcycle he was operating went off the bypass and came to rest off of the eastbound lane of Rt.33 Business. He was discovered at sunrise.

The Howell Police as well as the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office Serious Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (SCART) are investigating this incident.
