Two Sent to Hospital after Manchester Crash

MANCHESTER-On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at approximately 12:23 pm, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department responded to County Route 530 in the Whiting Section of the township to investigate a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles that collided head-on, at the intersection of Pine Ridge Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers observed a black 2000 Honda Accord and a black 2005 Nissan Altima both on CR 530 in the roadway with extensive front end damage.  The investigation revealed that the Honda had been travelling west on Route 530 and while attempting to left on to Pine Ridge Blvd., entered the east bound lane of travel causing it to collide head-on with the Nissan.    

The driver of the Honda was identified as 59 year old Raymond A. Cappiccille Jr. of Scotch Plains, and the passenger was identified as 86 year old Jean V. Cappiccille of Whiting.  Cappiccille Jr. was uninjured in the crash, however Jean Cappiccille was transported to Community Medical Center by Quality Medical Transport for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  The driver of the Nissan was identified as 59 year old Kathleen A. Aurelio of Carteret.  Aurelio was transported via MONOC medivac to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Whiting Volunteer First Aid Squad, Quality Medical Transport, and MONOC Paramedics.  The crash is being investigated by  Patrolman Ian Bole and Ptl. Jesse Hoydis of the Manchester Police Department’s Traffic Safety section.
