Ginny Haines, First Woman to Lead Ocean County in Over 40 Years

TOMS RIVER, NJ-Ginny Haines is about to become the first woman to lead Ocean County in over 40 years, but you won’t hear too much about that from the mainstream media or the women’s movement in America.  That’s because Haines is a longtime Republican and also serves on New Jersey’s Republican National Committee.

Haines is a seasoned and accomplished leader in Ocean County from her days serving as a committeewoman in then Dover Township to her tenure in the New Jersey Assembly.  She’s also the co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee’s northeast region.

In January, Haines will take her seat as the Director of the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Haines, of Toms River, was first appointed to the Board on Jan. 27, 2016 to fill the seat left vacant by Freeholder James F.

“On behalf of the NJGOP, I want to congratulate Ginny Haines on becoming the first woman to lead Ocean County in 40 years. As our party’s national committeewoman she has been a great advocate for our state party and as a Freeholder she has fiercely fought for the taxpayers of Ocean County,” said Doug Steinhardt, Chairman of the New Jersey GOP. “Her rise in leadership is well deserved and we are proud to work with her.”
