Obama Era Administrator, Big Pharma Rep Announces Run for U.S. Senate in New Jersey


CHESTER,NJ-Rikin”Rik” Mehta has announced he will be running for office to replace U.S. Senator Cory Booker in 2020. Mehta works as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance of a pharmaceutical company called Aquestive Therapeutics.

Before joining the pharmaceutical firm, he worked at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration during the administration of former U.S. President Barack Obama.  Mehta also worked as the head of the U.S. Regulatory Policy, PCH at Pfizer pharmaceuticals, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical corporations.

“One-third of the New Jersey’s population are immigrants and minorities like myself,” Mehta said of his campaign.

Mehta started his career working as a pharmacist before working under the Obama administration in the FDA.   After leaving the FDA, where he said his job was to hold big pharma companies accountable, he joined Pfizer.
