Ocean County Congressman Andy Kim Just Voted to Impeach President Trump

TOMS RIVER-Ocean County is a strongly Republican county where Donald Trump crushed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, but today, it’s representative in Congress, Congressman Andy Kim went against the will of his constituents and voted to impeach the President.

“This week, the House will take up articles of impeachment against the president,” Congressman Kim said earlier this week. “It is with a sense of humility, and with the future of our Constitution and presidency in mind, that I will vote yes on the articles of impeachment before the House.”

Kim went on to justify his decision to go against the people of Ocean County.

“I understand some of you will not agree with my decision, and I want you to know that I thought through your concerns and arguments at great length,” Kim said. “I give you my sincere word that I made this decision myself with no consideration about party affiliation.”

Prior to running for Congress, Kim organized a movement to remove President Trump from office called “Rise Stronger”.  That movement expressed radical left-wing ideology and called for the radicalization of the left in an attempt to overthrow the Trump administration.  It encouraged political resistance and recommended a reading list that included books by authors who support violence in the political arena.

After voting to impeach Trump, Kim reminded his constituents he’s still a good guy and will work hard to continue working in a bipartisan manner to lower healthcare costs, prescription drug costs, support our veterans and create jobs.
