Report: Jackson Township Attorney Says He Hasn’t Seen New Lawsuit?

Phil Stilton

JACKSON-This year, the Jackson Township municipal council awarded a pay-to-play contract to a political ally, Assemblyman Gregory P. McGuckin, a close ally of new GOP party boss Frank Holman.   McGuckin, whose firm also serves as legal counsel for Lakewood Township’s zoning board admitted in an article by the Asbury Park Press that he had not yet reviewed the lawsuit filed by Jackson Trails, LLC whose project was denied last year by the township planning board.

According to that article, over 24 hours after the lawsuit was filed, McGuckin did not yet read the lawsuit, even though most everyone else in Jackson had by that point.

“Gregory P. McGuckin, who served as Planning Board attorney when the Jackson Trails application was discussed, said Tuesday he had not yet seen the lawsuit,” the Asbury Park Press reported.

McGuckin’s time might be spread thin these days.  After all, his firm won legal counsel appointments in Manchester, Lacey, Jackson, Stafford and others. Perhaps McGuckin has spread himself too thin to properly handle Jackson’s needs in its most critical time of need.
