Holmdel, NJ – February 24, 2020 – The Hackensack Meridian Health Bayshore Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees has launched a fundraising campaign to secure donations in support of the future Dr. Robert H. Harris Emergency Care Center at Hackensack Meridian Health Bayshore Medical Center, named by Mary Ellen Harris and the Golden Dome Foundation, which officially broke ground in October 2019.
“Having a strong board of trustees who are all rallied around such a significant project will have a great impact on our campaign to raise funds to build the Emergency Care Center,” says Joseph Stampe, president and chief development officer of Hackensack Meridian Health Meridian Health Foundation, to which the Bayshore Medical Center Foundation belongs. “This new facility will transform emergency services for the community, and I know that our board of strong champions will catapult this project into the spotlight. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm.”
Since 2015, nearly $13.5 million has been secured in support of technologies and special projects, including the new Emergency Care Center, which will provide space necessary for the medical staff to address the emergent care needs of the community in a comfortable and private environment. It will contain 35 private patient bays, swing space with capacity for pediatric care and new imaging equipment dedicated to Emergency Care Center patients.

All funds raised for this construction project will remain dedicated to Bayshore Medical Center as this board works alongside Meridian Health Foundation in its mission to raise $150 million for eight Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals within Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties, including: Bayshore Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Ocean Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center – Old Bridge, Raritan Bay Medical Center – Perth Amboy, Riverview Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center.
Called Giving Heals, the campaign supports four important initiatives: improving clinical outcomes, enhancing the patient experience, broadening clinical research and academic programs and strengthening oncology services.
