The Berkeley Township Police Department would like to remind our residents to be cautious when making Covid-19 donations via Go-Fund- Me or other internet based sites. There has been an uptick in fraudulent sites preying on your generosity.
Although there are many legitimate donation requests and many people who are in need, criminal fraudsters will still attempt to exploit this for their own selfish benefit.
Residents are asked that before making a donation, do some research on the recipient so you can be sure your donation goes to those who truly need it!
