City Workers Take Down Basketball Hoop to Stop 12 Year Old Girl from Playing Alone

LITTLE ROCK, AK –  A Little Rock mom penned a letter to The Federalist to tell the story about her 12-year-old daughter and the city’s actions to remove a basketball hoop to stop her from playing.

“On April 6, my 12-year-old daughter was playing basketball alone at the court, as she often does, when a city truck drove over to her. She quickly came home to get me. I headed down to the court to talk to the city workers, who told me that they were taking down the basketball rim to keep groups from gathering,” she wrote.

Now, the city is looking to impose a curfew for children it feels should be indoors, homeschooling and not at the park shooting hoops.
