Murphy Allows Mobile Pet Groomers to Operate

TRENTON, NJ – Haircuts for your dogs are now deemed an essential service by Governor Phil Murphy according to a notice published by the Toms River Office of Emergency Management.

“Per the New Jersey State Police, mobile dog and cat groomers are allowed to operate provided you follow social distancing guidelines and wear gloves and face masks,” the TROEM said.

That means, under Murphy’s Law, you can have a dog groomer give your dog..or cat a hair cut, but you can’t get one yourself and once your pet gets a haircut, you can’t go walk him or her through the local park to show it off.

This comes after New Jersey police have shut down several illegally operating barber shops across the state.

“Impress me, cut human hair. I’ll be damned if my dog gonna look better then me,” said Ocean County resident Doreen Longo.

“Seriously, cause our pets hair is so essential, and not our own? Allow salons to reopen and wear masks,” said Gina Marie.
