NYC Police Arrest Mom in NYC Subway For Temporarily Not Wearing Face Mask

Shore News Network

A woman was removed from the New York City Subway system for not wearing a protective mask.  The woman, who was wearing a mask had pulled it under her chin because she said it was difficult for her to breathe through it.  On a normal day, the air in the New York City subway system is nearly unbreathable.  While wearing a mask is required, exceptions in the state’s order allow for people to not wear them if they are suffering from another medical condition that would make wearing the mask difficult.   The interaction between the woman and police escalated and she was handcuffed and arrested in front of her young child.   While exiting the station, the woman was grabbed by an officer and she responded, “Don’t touch me.”  It was at that point that officers subdued the woman and arrested her.
